Oh! Hello there! I almost forgot that I have this blog. haha! Kidding aside, I’d like to apologize for the lax.

On to the FOOD..

With my first ever post here and here about CYMA, you may already have the idea of how much I love Mediterranean cuisine. So here’s a “fast-food” take on CYMA—GO GREEK!

First of all, GO GREEK is also the brainchild of Rob Goco, the very same proponent of CYMA. While Cyma is on the more “sophisticated fine dining” vibe, Go Greek is the casual fast food version. Once you see Go Greek, Cyma will be first in mind; the theme is very similar. I’ve only seen it in Glorietta Food Choices.

Here’s what we had…

Moussaka Platter
Description: ground pork and beef  layered with roasted Japanese eggplant and Greek bechamel sauce
Price:  ~ PHP 195
Serving: good for 1

Moussaka, again, is the national dish of Greece. It has layers of ground meat and eggplant topped with bechamel sauce. So how was the taste? Honestly, I am not very fond of Go Greek’s version. The dish, I guess, is not prepared on order so it’s not so hot and fresh when served. The bechamel sauce is also not as creamy as that of Cyma’s. Their platter comes with a side of salad and potatoes which I think is good value for money. But I think my opinion on their food is based on the fact that I have CYMA as my benchmark. It’s a pretty high standard to match.

Mixed Meat Gyro Platter
Description: ground beef, pork and lamb with veggies and spices in pita bread
Price:  ~ PHP 235
Serving: good for 1

Think Gyro as the Greek Shawarma.  So how does it fare? The dish wasn’t served hot, again. In terms of taste, it has the familiar flavors of gyro, and the yogurt garlic sauce was as good as that of Cyma’s.

Overall, Go Greek is definitely a go-to place if you want to quickly satiate that craving for Mediterranean food. Plus, they have reasonably priced menu. So if you’re on a budget and wants a Greek fix, definitely go eatingness at Go Greek! It’s simple, fast, and affordable. 🙂

If; however, you are fond of the Cyma-level food, then we just have to manage our expectations. I just hoped Go Greek could have the same or almost similar taste to that of it’s sister restaurant but I think that’s the opportunity cost if you put it to a fast-food model.

Eatingness!
