I’m trying to get the momentum back so here’s a quick food post.

Last month (or a month before that?) I was in UP Diliman for official business. It was actually my first time going there alone. I heard from a lot of friends in the mountains of UPLB, where it’s more FUN (haha!), that there’s a couple of must-try food in campus. That day, I tried the infamous RODIC’S tapsilog.

Rodic’s Tapsilog
Description: TAPSILOG (tapa-sinangag-itlog)
Price:  ~ PHP 75
Serving: good for 1

We are all familiar with tapsilog, right? If not, refer to Rufo’s tapsilog post here for a rundown of what tapsilog is (haha!).

So what’ so special with Rodic’s tapsilog? Basically two things: 1. taste 2. affordability.

The taste is superb! The tapa is meaty and tender with a bit of sweetness and saltiness. I recommend you put in a drizzle of vinegar to have the best experience. Don’t let the appearance fool you, I thought at first the amount of tapa wouldn’t be enough for the rice but as you mix it in the sinangag, it’s more than enough! The meal is so heavy and filling. With the price, no doubt it’s a real hit for hungry (not to mention on budget) college students. Plus, it’s served hot! SUPER SULIT!

Btw, Rodic’s made it to spot.ph’s 10 Best Tapsilog in Manila. I will also do a top list in the near future. What category would you like first? I’d like to hear your suggestions. 🙂

Rodic’s also serve other budget rice meals; haven’t tried them though. You can find Rodic’s in three branches:

1. Masaya Street corner Maginhawa Street, UP Village, Diliman Quezon City
2. Stall No. 9, University of the Philippines-Diliman Shopping Center
3. Salcedo St., Legaspi Village, Makati City

A definite must-try! Eatingness!
